The Louis Braspenninckx and
Olive Elaine Elegeert Family

Louis Braspenninckx was born in 1896 in Antwerpen, Belgium.  He immigrated to the United States in 1910 with his mother and two brothers.  He lived with his family in Ironwood, Michigan where his father (Constance) was a iron-worker and miner. Louis and his brothers were also miners in the copper mines of the Upper Penninsula.

Louis father was commissioned to do iron work in Gladstone for the Soo Line Railroad Company, and it is there he meets Peter Elegeert and falls in love with his daughter.  Louis married Olive Elegeert (born 1901) on 24 April 1919 in Gladstone, Michigan.
